A video workshop for participants with no experience in video-making. Duration and frequency is flexible.
The workshop eveolvs around objects - personal, meaningful, memory containing objects. Each participants will develop a short video in the form they choose (fiction, animation, video-lettre, video-essay, video-poem), while the main character or anchor point is an object of their choice.
This workshop is less a “production process” but rather a studio process of exploration, trial and learning. Through a series of exercises and improvisations, the participants become familiar with cinema-language and its semantics. Framing, shooting angles, sound-image relations, editing, as well as author positioning and meaning conveying, will all come together to constitute a personal film.
The unifying element, the object, will bring a certain coherency to the overall work. A collective film with chapters, an installation or any other form of final presentation can be then developed by the group.
